The Observatory on CBRNe Security and Defence includes a new and prestigious presence in its Scientific Committee with the entry of the Major General of Carabinieri (r) Pasquale Lavacca.
Gen. (r) Lavacca has a degree in Law at the University of Bari and a degree in Internal and External Security Sciences at the University of Rome “Tor Vergata”. He undertook the military career in 1973, attending the 155th Course of the Military Academy of Modena and the School of Application of the Carabinieri in Rome.
He has gained vast and significant leadership experiences within the Training Organization.
On the territory, he was Commander of the Turin Oltre Dora Division, and subsequently of the Operational Headquarters and the Provincial Operation Department of Turin (from 1982 to 1991) with significant commitment to tackling crime.
From 2002 to 2006 he served as Chief of the Technical-Logistic-Administrative Group, top structure of the logistic-administrative Organization of Central Italy Carabinieri.
From 2006 to 2011 he served as Chief of the III Division of the General Staff of the Carabinieri, key and top role in the direction of modernization and maintenance of systems and technologies used for operational and info-investigative, as well as strategic management of armaments and special equipment, representing Carabinieri in in various International Police Forces conferences.
From August 2011 to December 2013, Commander of Carabinieri Legion “Piemonte and Valle d’Aosta” Dal 1 agosto 2011 al 1 dicembre 2013 Comandante della Legione Carabinieri “Piemonte e Valle d’Aosta” which has jurisdiction over all the Carabinieri operating in the nine provinces of the two administrative Regions.
From December 2013 to March 2017 “Chief Executive Office of the Information and Automated Systems of Carabinieri” directly linked with General Commander in Roma.
